En Route International, a leading global provider of onboard food service solutions, will be announcing a major new development at WTCE this year, alongside showcasing a range of innovative and bespoke products.

The development, which has been created by the company’s multidisciplinary innovation team, will focus on En Route’s environmental activity. It will be officially launched on the opening day of WTCE.*

The company will also use the show as an opportunity to showcase further examples of innovative onboard catering solutions developed by its creative in-house design and product development teams.

The latest product and service solutions will include:

Frozen and ambient cheese packs – to reach more challenging stations and extend shelf life, En Route will be introducing a frozen cheese pack. In addition, to provide a quality budget option in the company’s cheese range, it will also be introducing some new, ambient individual cheese packs.

Global tapas – En Route will be showcasing a range of regionally sourced tapas style snacking products which will include treats such as traditional tapas, mezze and antipasti – all packaged under one brand family. This will enable airline partners to ensure both choice and consistency across their network.

Galley box innovations – The company will be expanding its highly successful galley/multi-service snack box programme to be used in different cabins within the aircraft. Additional innovations include the ability to reseal the box post flight so it can be sealed and taken back to a packing facility to reduce food waste. There will also be a new fully freezable version of this popular format.

Ovenable/ freezable Service box concepts – the company has created an ovenable/ freezable service box which can be delivered fully packed with products such as small pastries or individual hot handheld snacks. These can be slotted directly into an oven rack and the used as a service tray once heated up.

yum.me evolution – En Route will be adding to its yum.me ambient hot meal range with new on-trend recipes. It will also be showcasing the next evolution of its brand journey which is in line with current high street retail branding trends.

Global Hot Eats – En Route will be showcasing a range of regionally sourced hot handheld products from around the world, all packaged under one brand family. These have all been developed with global snacking trends in mind.

Special meal snack box – with the growing need for special meal requirements onboard, En Route has developed a new snack box that covers multiple special meal requirements in one box. Most notably the box will accommodate both vegan and celiac needs.

New cake range – the company is developing a range of small indulgence treats with act as a dessert replacement.
